This wine is made from grapes grown at John Balletto's Occidental Road Vineyard, located about a mile north-east of the town of Sebastopol. The vineyard's location, in the southern-most third of the Russian River Valley where the weather is much cooler than areas to the north, provides an extended period of ripening for Chardonnay.
Michael Scorsone has been a long-time friend and an honorary member of our family. Through our relationship with Michael we are able to source superb Dry Creek Valley fruit from the Emmitt-Scorsone Estate, located two miles west of the town of Healdsburg. The grapes produce a lovely, soft, medium-bodied wine full of red fruit and spice.
John Balletto has been a family friend for a number of years and we are fortunate to work with fruit from his family's vineyards. This wine is produced from the Burnside Road Vineyard, located at just under 1,000 feet of elevation and about 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean. This unique micro-climate provides one of the rare places where Pinot Noir can ripen slowly to produce wines of depth and distinction.
Our Pinot Noir from Jon Sassin's La Vista Vineyard. This one-acre block of Pinot Noir, located a mile and a half north of the town of Graton, produces excellent Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The wine is dominated by a core of rich cherry fruit and offers a long, lingering finish.
Collins Vineyard, located two miles north of the town of Windsor, was planted in 1934 and produces rich, intense, complex wine. It was originally part of Limerick Lane Cellars, surrounding the home of winemaker Michael Collins. We are very fortunate to work with this old-vine, heritage Zinfandel.
Twelve bottles of wine from the 2021 vintage of WineWorks, the first produced at the Sebastopol winery. This package includes two bottles each of the Balletto Chardonnay, the Balletto and La Vista Pinot Noirs and three bottles each of the Emmitt-Scorsone Grenache and the Collins Vineyard Old-Vine Zinfandel.
